Product Overview · Count Me Out!

Real-time BAC, on your terms.

A Blood Alcohol Concentration tracker for Android and Wear OS. Offline-first and private by default, expanding into two intentional experiences — social tracking, and opt-in sobriety support with a sponsor who sees only what you allow.

Positioning

What it is

Count Me Out! calculates BAC live from logged drinks and food using the Widmark formula, and presents it as a segmented Drunk Phase Dial (Sober → Blackout), a time-to-sober countdown, and phase-based warnings.

All data lives in a local database on the device — no account required. That privacy stance is a core feature, not a limitation. The product is now expanding into recovery and harm-reduction territory without forcing that framing on casual users. Guiding stance: harm reduction, not enabling.

Audiences

Who it's for

Primary — today

  • Social drinkers monitoring their own intake
  • People pacing their drinking on a night out
  • Health-conscious drinkers tracking consumption

Secondary — expansion

  • Harm-reduction participants (HAMS, SMART, Moderation Management)
  • People in recovery who want a sponsor to follow progress
  • Counsellor-assisted and clinical / wellness settings

The two modes

Same app, two intentions

A first-launch choice, app-wide and switchable in Settings. Social mode is the default and stays entirely local; support mode layers on opt-in tools.

Opt-in · Supported

Sobriety & support

Everything in social mode plus goals, streaks, and sponsor accountability — a trusted person who can follow your progress, at a level you control.

Milestones only Least revealing · default

A sober streak, goal adherence, and a simple traffic-light status. No drink details, no BAC numbers.

Session summaries More revealing

That a drinking event happened, its length, drink count, and peak BAC. Historical — not live.

Live view Most revealing

Real-time BAC and the active session as it unfolds — the same snapshot the watch receives.

Roadmap

Where it's going

Near term

Dual-mode phase

Five staged steps: mode foundation → accounts & schema → sharing core → sponsor experience → alerts & reports. Staged so social mode is never at risk.

Medium & long term

Recovery market

Fuller recovery mode (mood, meetings, triggers), goal-setting with accountability, a freemium tier, pilot studies with harm-reduction organisations, and eventual iOS reach.
